Environmental Training Programs:  An opportunity for Aboriginal Communities

ECO Canada, through BEAHR (Building Environmental Aboriginal Human Resources), has developed community-based environmental training programs that are inclusive of Aboriginal culture and knowledge.

"Don’t give up. I repeated chemistry in university twice because a minimum mark of a C was required to move on, and I received two Ds. It was a hard course for me and I knew I could do it—and I knew I wanted to study botany, so I stuck through chemistry. The third time in chemistry, I passed. I just kept trying. I wasn’t going to give up. Everybody has trouble with something. Some people have trouble with chemistry. Other people have trouble with English. It’s O.K. to have trouble with a subject, as long as you keep trying. Just never quit! You’ll get through it. You can succeed. Just keep trying."
